Zacchaeus was a wee little man, and so am I

A wee little man…just like me

I may be 6 foot 2, but I’m exactly like Zacchaeus

You say; “but I thought Zacchaeus was very short?

He was.

But so am I.

The Bible explains that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

I have fallen so short of God’s righteous standard, and I’ll never be able to rise to meet it in my own strength. I need more than a rope ladder to climb…I need to be LIFTED UP.

Fortunately, God made a way.

Jesus suffered on what the Bible calls “a tree”, and on that cross of wood, He paid the penalty for our sins. That same tree/cross lifts us high above our own shortcomings to meet God’s righteous standard. It is the righteousness of Jesus that raises us up and not our own efforts. The Bible goes on to say in verse 24;

“And all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

What great news! All of us were born “short”, with no hope of ever seeing Jesus in a friendly face to face encounter, but there is a tree that lifts us all…the Cross of Calvary.
